Chapped lips!?

Dry, chapped and numb lips?
It's alright.
Our lips are very sensitive, while our face is covered in a nice protective layer of skin, our lips are virtually naked in comparison. This is why we need to do certain things to keep our lips smooth and moist but using the store bought lip balms don't seem to work for a long time and we also don't know what goes inside it so its time to treat this problem by our own.

                 D.I.Y BASIC Lip Scrub
  • Brown sugar / White sugar
  • Coconut oil / Olive oil
  • A scented oil (Optional)
Mix together the ingredients listed above in a bowl, add essential/ scented oils if you wish to (Prepare a very little amount) fill this up in a little container and that's it. Massage this scrub to your lips for about 20 seconds and wipe off instantly. Do this every alternate day for the best results and it's all natural, what else would you want?
-->The sugar works to exfoliate the dry, dead skin and the oils you use help retain the moisture.

D.I.Y Sweet N' Sour Lip Scrub
  • Salt
  • Sugar
  • Olive oil
  • Tinted lipstick (Optional for adding color)
That's all you need, mix together these ingredients (You can add more or less of these ingredients to get your preferred consistency) and take your favorite lipstick and add a little amount of it for a pop of color or you can use food coloring too (This is entirely optional)
-->Instead of using your fingers to apply this scrub, use a toothbrush for proper exfoliation (or for every other lip scrub)
-->Make sure to use soft circular motions across your lips for the best exfoliation.

               D.I.Y Treat It Lips
  • Coconut Oil
  • Raw honey
  • Granulated sugar
  • A dash of lemon juice
Mix the coconut oil, honey and sugar together to make a sugary paste, then add a dash of lemon juice. Use a soft bristle toothbrush or finger to use the scrub, rinse this with water and apply your favorite lip balm afterwards for soft and silky lips.
-->The lemon juice contains Vitamin C & citric acid that brightens skin, scars, and exfoliates.

Apart from the lip scrubs, there are other basic methods to heal your lips too...
*Invest in a lip balm which contains natural ingredients and focuses only on healing your chapped lips instead of just giving color to your lips. I suggest using EOS lip balms , Himalaya lip balm or Burt's bees chapstick.
*STOP LICKING YOUR LIPS RIGHT AWAY.
*Provide your lips with extra care during the cold months.
*Try using lip balms with SPF to protect your lips from the sun.
*Don't use balms, lipsticks or treatments on your lips all the time. Give time for your lips to breathe.
*Apart from doing wonders to your eyes, cucumber can help your lips too. Just slice a cucumber and place it on your lips for 5 minutes(This helps re hydrate)
*Rub on some aloe vera, it helps relieve pain that occur with chapped lips.
AND THE MOST IMPORTANT TIP IS TO DRINK PLENTY OF WATER FOR CONTINUOUS HYDRATION. IT IS IMPORTANT TO DRINK AT LEAST 10 TO 15 GLASSES OF WATER PER DAY TO BE HYDRATED AT ALL TIMES. ALSO , PACK IN YOUR FAVORITE JUICES WHEREVER YOU GO OR SOME CUT FRUITS WORK TOO.
